Dentistry is a popular and necessary career in the US. It's not a secret more Americans are suffering from obesity, and it's a given that the more you put into your mouth the more prone you are to developing cavities and tooth decay. America needs dentists more than ever.

- Loma Linda University
In 1953, the School of Dentistry in Loma Linda University was formed to inspire and teach dental care to students from all over the world. It aims to bring focus down to the individual patient, and teaches its students to follow in its footsteps. Now the School of Dentistry offers doctor of dental surgery degrees as well as bachelor of science degrees and education programs in implant dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, maxillofacial and oral surgery, endodontics and anethesia. You'll be fully equipped by the time you leave the university for a career in dentistry.
- Shippensburg University
Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania is one of the most highly competent pre-dentistry schools in the United States. In 2000, Temple University agreed to grant automatic interviews to all graduating pre-dentistry students from Shippensburg, and over the last decade all students who took tests for other dental programs passed. Pre-dentistry advisors in Shippensburg also maintain close bonds with regional dental schools so students learn only accurate and comprehensive information.
- Weber State University
The Pre-Dentistry School in Weber State University is a great place to begin a career in dentistry. This Utah-based university, which houses its own dentist society, has a lot to offer—advisors and staffs with years of experience, up-to-date classroom technology, and the Pre-Dentistry Society. Pre-dentistry course subjects include Organic and Generic Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology and Psychology. There are no application deadlines. - Texas Lutheran University
Looking to start preparing for a dental career in a friendly and non-stressful environment? Texas Lutheran University's School of Pre-Dentistry just might be it—that is, if you happen to be living in Texas. There are only three dental schools in Texas, and TLU prepares its students to be more than capable to pass admissions requirements for all three by keeping an average of 18 students per class, through competent professors and advisors, and by preserving a study-conducive environment. The Princeton Review named Texas Lutheran University one of the Best Western Colleges in the US.
- University of Minnesota
University of Minnesota | Crookston has a pre-dentistry school of its own. Established in 1966, the university gets an average 1,200 student applications every year. But what's different about UMC—apart from it being named by US News as one of the best colleges of 2008—is that all faculties and students are given laptops to facilitate modern methods of teaching and learning. Pre-dentistry study options in UMC include Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Abnormal Psychology, Histology, Developmental Psychology, Biomedical Ethics, etc. Students should contact dental schools to determine their course requirements.
- MacMurray College
MacMurray College in Illinois is another good school if you're looking to build a career in the dental practice. Its school of pre-dentistry work in much the same way as dental schools in other universities, just about, though MacMurray College is lenient in its admissions policies. Students only need to attain GPA score of 2.5 and 20 ACT composite score to be admitted into the program.
There you have it, some of the finest pre-dentistry schools in the US. So okay The dental field isn't as competitive as getting into medical school. But who said seeking admission was the worst part?
